Reach Housing / Uniquely Different is founded on the experience of many young people and adults who do not choose to engage in generic environments. People with Autism and learning disabilities are unique and different.

Funding is often provided for support workers to support people outside generic services but often there is nowhere for people to base themselves. This often results in people walking round local community with no set goals or achievements, in poor weather and often with excessive expenses.

Our desire is to provide a purposely designed building to be used as a resource centre open to children, adults and families with learning disabilities, Autism, health and social care needs. The centre offers facilities for people to attend and to feel accepted and confident to be who they are and have their individual achievements, goals and needs met. The facilities can be accessed for a service charge.

Uniquely Different does not employ support workers. This enables provision and support to be kept separate, each with their own set of boundaries. We can sign post to support services. Uniquely Different works in partnership with Reach Housing and Enablement Services.

Children and adults accessing the service would be supported by a family member/s, direct personal assistants, individualised budget support worker and/or support worker funded by health and social care. We are able to help sign post but we do not employ support workers.
