Reach Housing \/ Uniquely Different is founded on the experience of many young people and adults who do not choose to engage in generic environments. People with Autism and learning disabilities are unique and different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding is often provided for support workers to support people outside generic services but often there is nowhere for people to base themselves. This often results in people walking round local community with no set goals or achievements, in poor weather and often with excessive expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our desire is to provide a purposely designed building to be used as a resource centre open to children, adults and families with learning disabilities, Autism, health and social care needs. The centre offers facilities for people to attend and to feel accepted and confident to be who they are and have their individual achievements, goals and needs met. The facilities can be accessed for a service charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniquely Different does not employ support workers. This enables provision and support to be kept separate, each with their own set of boundaries. We can sign post to support services. Uniquely Different works in partnership with Reach Housing and Enablement Services.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Children and adults accessing the service would be supported by a family member\/s, direct personal assistants, individualised budget support worker and\/or support worker funded by health and social care. We are able to help sign post but we do not employ support workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Uniquely Different is not a residential home. It is a resource centre which provides service facilities \/ hourly sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      24 hour resource means:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      A facility to be able to access (for day, evening, after school, weekend day sessions) practicing independent living transition skills into adulthood, ASDAN, lifestyle planning towards independence, emergency facilities for SSD with a person\u2019s own staff or own provider to use, or families who have support but need a place to cater for their loved one\u2019s needs (In accordance with Reg 15 Health & Social Care Act CQC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
